The
grown-up Six year old
A little, innocent six year old
girl, trusting, loving.
She plays with all her friends, her
life is as carefree as the next six year olds life.
Everything is fine.
A cousin, a grandfather, a friend of
the family.
They all changed her life.
Now she wouldn’t play the kind of
games that the others were playing.
She knew more about certain things
than most teenagers know.
She no longer echoed the laughter of
her friends, and very little could ever make her smile.
She found out how it feels to be
blamed by every family member for something no one should ever experience.
She found out how it feels to be
rejected by those who said they loved her.
