Closeness

CLOSENESS
Her gentle touch,
The smell of her-
The closeness-
Feeling her against me because she wants to be
Feeling her energy lift when I come near
The way we can be together and "do" nothing for hours
And yet feel like it was the best time spent in a long time
Knowing that there is no demands, no expectations-
Just here and now
Being able to be free to be who and what we are in each other’s presence
Knowing that even if we do not feel ok about who we are, the other believes we are fantastic just the way we are
A sense of such great tenderness,
Such wonderful desire to connect with another wonderful human
Not needing it to be sexual,
Not needing it to be forever
Just needing it to be- just to be
Like a flower needs the sun in order to bloom-
The heart needs the "sun" of another soul in order for it to open up-
To open to all the things that it can hold, all of the things that it can be
To open to all the possibilities of a world that is made up of more than just abuse, hurt, and neglect-
A world of such wonderful possibilities as Love, joy, connectedness, wholeness, freedom, acceptance.
Flowering in the sun of life,
The sun of love
The sun of possibility
Seeing, even Knowing possibilities that did not seem to exist before-
Two different hearts-
Two different people-
With different interests-
And yet the same desires
Neither mind knowing clearly what they want-
Both hearts intuitively sensing what they need
Connection-
Wholeness-
Wholeness not through the 'virtues' of someone else, but rather through another reflecting back to us the beauty within our own being-
Each trying to help the other see themselves through the eyes of the other.
Such possibility-

Courage to call within

Courage to call within

Find the courage within
And find a way to live again
Outside of pain, away from lies

Deep within the memory begins
Of the precious child I once was
And the joy in knowing she still lives

Find the courage roaming free
To call this little one out from within
With welcoming smile and gentle voice

Finding Courage to be me
Ever true to who I really am
And embracing Self with loving arms

Your Touch

Your Touch

I long to feel the sunshine of your passionate embrace,
Gently rocking me into a place where I finally belong.

So elusive, this experience of belonging-
I have worked my entire life trying to capture oneness-
Just to fail so many times,
Finding my heart lying shattered upon the floor.
Wondering if I could possibly deal with anything more.

And then you came along and gifted me
With something I never thought possible.
A break from that world of pain-
A love that might just make me whole again.

I must have looked your way four hundred times
Before the timing was right-
And never would I have guessed the joy I would meet in your eyes that night

One look at me was all it took for you to see-
The wounded heart that ‘til now embodied the experience of me

And ever so tenderly you reached down,
Picked up the broken pieces of my heart-
Took my hand and said, “Let’s put this back together again.”

In that moment so much pain was healed-
And such possibility revealed
